About me
I am based in Cambridgeshire where I have lived all of my life.
I have always had a love of art and have painted in waterolours for many years and it is now great to be able to share my passion with a wider audience. Like most artists I strived to find “my style”. I knew how I wanted to paint but being able to transfer my thoughts to paper has taken time - but I have learnt so much along the way. My great passion are flowers which I like to paint with impact and bold colours.
Watercolour is an exciting medium to work in as you never quite know what it is going to do but for me that is the fun part. I love to flood the paper and let the paint “do its thing” and then use the shapes it has given me and incorporate them into my painting. When I paint, I see the flowers as colour and shapes as this allows me to interpret them in my own way. When the main body of the painting is finished, I spend time enhancing those accidental marks the paint has left me to play with.
